1. What is a "newsfeed"?
What does "No newsfeed could be found..." mean?
You get this message when our software failed to retrieve the location of the newsfeed of the source you are trying to add. A newsfeed contains news from a website in a machine-readable format, which can be displayed and processed independently on other websites such as news2paper.

2. My compilation or my blog is not rendered as a news2paper.
I do not receive my news2paper regularly.
Please note that this service is still a Beta version. This means that features will be constantly added, changed or removed and sometimes errors might occur. Our layout software sometimes does not find suitable layouts if the articles do not fit.
You can support the development by reporting news2paper issues that are not being generated when they should. We will then give our best to solve the problem.

3. My news2paper issue misses articles.

Your issue contains the most recent articles from the sources you selected. The maximum number of pages is limited to the value you configured. In addition to that, we currently have a limit of 50 articles per issue to guarantee a timely delivery. This limit will be dropped in one of the future versions.

Another reason for missing articles can be the suitability of a source, which depends on the average length of articles. Our layout software tries to find the best possible composition of articles on each page. Now and then articles need to be moved to another page, because they do not fit the current page. If the article cannot even be placed on the last possible page, it is removed.
If an unusual amount of articles is missing, please inform us.

5. Some areas in my news2paper are empty.
Currently it might happen that areas on a page remain empty, sometimes even large areas. We are currently working on this and will release a new version soon that will fit articles exactly and minimize empty areas.

6. Die Beiträge sind falsch sortiert, sie scheinen durcheinander geraten zu sein.
Bei der Auswahl der Beiträge, die auf einer Seite platziert werden sollen, ist das Erscheinungsdatum ein wichtiges Kriterium. Allerdings werden Beiträge vorgezogen, wenn die nächsten Beiträge nicht mehr vollständig auf die aktuelle Seite passen würden. Daher kann es vorkommen, dass ältere Beiträge vorher platziert. Wir arbeiten intensiv an der Verbesserung der verwendeten Algorithmen, sodass in Kürze die Sortierung nach Datum eingehalten werden kann.

7. Die verwendeten Bilder sind sehr stark verpixelt / unscharf.
Aufgrund der Unterschiede in der Auflösung zwischen einer Bildschirmanzeige und einer druckfähigen Ausgabe ist es nicht möglich, eine bessere Qualität der Bilder zu erreichen. Die uns zur Verfügung gestellten Bilder sind auf die Anzeige am Bildschirm optimiert und daher von geringerer Auflösung als es für eine Druckausgabe notwendig ist.

8. What does "This source is unsuitable/moderately suitable/suitable for news2paper" mean?
A source is suitable for news2paper if it provides enough content to be rendered in a newspaper layout. If a source is deemed "unsuitable", the content might not be processed at all or articles only consist of a headline. This is illustrated by a red dot on the left side of the source list.
A moderately suitable source provides relatively small articles that usually contain only a teaser. In these cases the full article is only available at the linked website. A yellow dot signalizes a moderately suitable source.
Suitable sources are most likely to send full articles and therefore can be converted well to a newspaper layout. In this case the dot on the left side of the source list is green.
If a blog you would like to add to your newspaper is deemed "unsuitable", why not contact the owner of the blog and tell him about the news2paper plugin? The plugin transfers full articles even if the blog only provides teasers.

9. In the news2paper preview some areas are green and pictures are missing.
Some pictures are not displayed correctly in the preview.
If the preview contains green areas, there should be pictures in these areas.
This appears only in the preview, which is generated from the PDF file. The error occurs during the conversion process, the pictures in the PDF are displayed correctly.
